What Diversity means in Canada and USA

What Conservative M.P. Kellie Leitch of Ontario Canada is talking about vetting immigrants for anti Canadian Values is right on the mark. I could not agree more. For those who think diversity means that their religion or culture is above all, is mistaken and here is why.

When my parents decided to leave Iraq 41 years ago for a better life free from religious persecution, oppression and totalitarian regime, we chose Canada because of its diversity and other cultures living in harmony and not trying to supersede the other.  Being Catholics, we sought deep roots in Canada based on our religion and culture; we had a sense of belonging. It wasn’t hard to adjust or assimilate in Canada for we are the same in many ways expect we had to learn the English Language and adjust to the climate.

Canada has certainly retained the status of being friendly, polite and accepting of others. Diversity is beautiful, tangible and educational. We like to learn from one another about our food and folklore which makes us all accepting and respectful for one another for the sake of harmony.  It seems that we all chose to live in the West weather Canada, USA, Australia or Europe for the love of humanity.  We strive to be the best in the world to respect all mankind and diversity as the law treats us equal and in GOD’s eyes we are all equal.

This era has taken a twist to steer one religion to dominate the other, you probably ask who and why.   Well the answer is very simple, post 9/11 the West in general has been attacked by radical Islam. The war in Middle East and other parts of Islamic Nations world wide has shifted the ideology of one religion to supersede the other for control.  Take Canada for example:

Christianity is the largest religion in Canada, with the Catholic Church having the most adherents. Christians, representing 67.3% of the population, are followed by people having no religion with 23.9% of the total population.

Pre 9/11 we never heard of Burqas, Burkinis , Niqab and Halal food. The demand for not adhering to our National Anthem, School curriculum such as sex education, Food labeling, taking the oath of Citizenship, Justice System, Courts, Swearing the legions to our majesty, refusing to participate in sports, music, arts and theater, refusing to abide by the laws and policy of our public service and taxi service and refusing to pick up passengers with special needs that are handled by service dogs homosexuals and provocative clothing and the list goes on and on.  You wonder who’s behind all these demands. Yes, Radical Islam.

You haven’t heard taxpaying citizens of Canada and other faiths such as:

Christians, Judaism, Buddhist, Hindus, Sikhs, Rastafarian, Mennonites etc.  Asking for special treatment and placing demands on our values.  The misconception which Radical Islam truly takes to heart is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and I quote:

(a) freedom of conscience and religion; (b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and. (d) freedom of association.

Our government must take a closer look on certain religions and its doctrine and observe their practices and way of life; do they really coexist with our values?  The onus is on our government to modify the Charter “Freedom of Religion” to suit our way of life, moral, values and security.  Human Rights is about living free from Oppression, Persecution, Fear, Subjugation, domination of one culture or religion over other.  We must all live equally in the eyes of laws in harmony, liberty and security.   NO religion or culture should supersede other Canadians; all government officials must take note that no one is superior over other. Let’s not forget we are all immigrants and the land rightfully belongs to the indigenous people of Canada.  Therefore, we must have ONE Nation under ONE FLAG.
